Shanky Chellaram was born in 1948 and sadly passed away on 23rd December 2008. However, as his legacy, he left us a song entitled 'The Other Side', to help all those who have lost a loved one. The song was actually first written in late '70s/early '80s for his wife, Nalanie Chellaram. To commemorate two years since his passing, the song has now been re-recorded in 2010 by his wife and family with the help of talented musician, producer and friend, Dennis Valerga. The song is performed by Denis Valerga and Shanky's family. The song will hopefully inspire those who have suffered a personal loss in their life. The song was actually first written in late '70s / early '80s for his wife, Nalanie Chellaram, and was re-recorded in 2010 by his wife and family with the help of talented musician and friend, Dennis Valerga. Shanky spent much of his life in Gibraltar and Hong Kong, and was a keen motivational speaker in his early 20s, before moving permanently to Gibraltar in the mid-1970s to focusing on the retail, import and fashion business. Rumour has it he played gigs on alternate nights in a London hotel with Jimi Hendrix in the late '60s.

I would like to thank my beloved husband for leaving all of us this beautiful song. It gave me the strength to heal during the darkest moments in my life... I am so grateful to my children for sharing this with all...May anyone who has lost someone receive hope from this loving song.....Peace to all....
